Hello,

Thanks a lot to www.hautetfort.com team to allow me to exist on the net since 2 years but I decided to move on wordpress ... see you on http://discoride.com.
Before leaving, here's a video demo of my Dj netbook application.

Here's the first released of discoride. Beware ! this is an alpha version, use at your risks, you have been warned. This version heavy uses FMOD library that is not open source.

discoride has been tested only Xubuntu Jaunty on a Samsung nc10.

Setup instructions

get FMOD lib (32 bits) and install it.

install libSDL-1.2, libSDL_gfx, libSDL_ttf-2.0.

get.discoride untar where you want.

Users instructions

open a terminal, go discoride installation folder and run

./go_disco [list of music files or directory containing music files ]

for example, ./go_disco my_music1_file.mp3 my_music_library.mp3

discoride is heavly shortcuts driven (play pause, volume, pan, pitch( fine - coarse), punch, mute, track forward, track backward ...).

Notes

MS Windows portage is in my road map but Linux "embedded" version finalization has higher priority.

Will discoride remain free ? Basic versions will remain free.

Master tempo is it possible ? I don't know if it's possible ... I will try.

discoride is not able to handle big songs library ( > 300 )

Linux xubuntu hardy heron RME Multiface installation

Voici une procédure pour installer une carte audionumérique RME Multiface sur xubuntu (hardy heron)

1) installer xubuntu (hardy heron)

2) installer les paquets suivants via l'incantation suivante dans un terminal:

sudo apt-get install ubuntustudio-audio build-essential

3) récuperer l'archive contenant le firmware alsa sur le site alsa-project, j'ai pour ma part utilisé le fichier alsa-firmware-1.0.16.tar.bz2 (la plupart des autres versions doivent fonctionner mais je n'ai pas testé)

4) décompresser le firmware

tar jvfz alsa-firmware-1.0.16.tar.bz2

5) se placer dans le répertoire créé, compiler et installer

./configure && make

sudo make install

6) activer la carte RME comme périphérique par défaut

asoundconf set-default-card DSP

7) redémarrer, le voyant rouge doit s'éteindre durant la phase de démarrage (sinon çà ne marchera pas)

8) une fois démarré, lancer le HDSPMixer (Applications -> Multimédia -> HDSPMixer)

9) tester avec audacious par exemple sans oublier de désigner le driver alsa comme sortie principale

Voilà, le contrôle du volume se fait via HDSPMixer et dans un autre registre ...
